Recommended: PureVision 2HD Contact Lenses
On occasion I’ll use this space for product reviews based on my observations in clinic. PureVision 2HD is a monthly disposable contact lens from Bausch + Lomb that I have been fitting for about a month. I am impressed with its performance. True to its name, this product gives wearers the experience of “high-definition” vision.
PureVision 2HD lenses are made of AerGel (silicone hydrogel), a material that allows up to five times more oxygen to the cornea than conventional soft lenses to promote ocular health. Because the lenses allow natural levels of oxygen to reach your eyes, they stay comfortable and healthy while resisting protein and debris buildup on the lens. You may hardly notice you’re wearing lenses at all.
The Bausch + Lomb PureVision 2HD visibility tinted contact lens is indicated for daily wear or extended wear.
Patients report that the lens is very comfortable; however, I have not seen a marked increase in comfort compared to other quality lenses and manufacturers. The reason PureVision 2HD lenses have my enthusiastic recommendation is that their oxygen permeability and resistance to buildup provide for better optics. Patients report their nighttime driving has improved and say wearing the lenses is like having high-definition vision. I am excited to offer this product to patients.
